1. Hidden Hills Howler
Event and Venue: Giant Slalom for Longboards and slalom skateboards - Aubry Rd, Wanaka on the new Hidden Hills subdivision. Probably 40
cones. Road surface 10 {out of 10}
Suit medium to experienced riders. Course will be set to control speed. Evenso, it’s a fast
hill.
Date: Saturday 21st Feb 2009
Weather option day: Sunday
22nd Feb 2009
Start time:
10.00am But maybe 6pm because the road might be needed.
Road Closure: Outlaw
Format: Free push to
start line. Single lane course; 1 hour practice. Best of 3 runs; final run in
reverse ‘best time’ order. Cone spacing as hill dictates to provide easy ‘safe’
descent. Prizegiving following last run.
GS Rules of
Engagement: Any type of
skateboard. Helmet compulsory. Cone penalty = 2/10ths sec. Or Max 5 cones DQ.
Comment: This is
a preliminary event, definetly lo-key, prior to a bigger event as (hopefully) part
of WanakaFest in Oct 09. Another event such as this may happen in
April or Early May.
